# Glongus Privacy Policy

This explains what Glongus collects, why, and what you can do about it. Glongus is a place to play and make community-made games, avatars, and worlds.

## 1. Who we are

## 2. What we collect

**Stuff you give us:**
- Your username and password (we never store the password as plain text)
- Your birthday, which we only use to check that it's a real date
- Your gender, which is optional and shows up on your profile
- A recovery email, only if you decide to add one so you can get back into your account
- Interests and genres you like, also optional, used to tailor what you see
- Your avatar and any games or assets you make or upload

**Stuff we pick up automatically:**
- Basic technical info we need to run the site and stop abuse, like request logs
- Your Bits balance and marketplace history

We try to keep this to a minimum. The recovery email, gender, and interests are all optional.

## 3. What we do with it

- Set up and protect your account, and let you log back in
- Show your profile, avatar, and activity to other users the way you'd expect (friends lists, game credits, and so on)
- Run things like Bits, the marketplace, and account recovery
- Keep the site safe by looking into reports, enforcing our [Terms of Service](/terms.md), and stopping fraud
- Make Glongus better, like suggesting games based on the interests you picked

We don't sell your personal info.

## 4. Who can see it

- Your username, avatar, and public activity are visible to other users, like on any social site.
- Your birthday, gender, recovery email, and login details are private. Other users can't see them.
- We may share info if the law requires it, if it's needed to protect Glongus or its users, or with services that help us run the site (like our hosting and database provider). Those services have to protect your data too.

## 5. How long we keep it

We keep your info while your account is active. If you want your account or data deleted, contact us and we'll take care of it. The exception is anything we have to hold onto for legal reasons or to sort out a dispute.

## 6. Kids

Glongus is open to everyone, whatever your age, and you don't need a parent's permission to use it. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us any time to look at or delete their child's info.

## 7. Your choices

- You can change or remove optional profile details, like your recovery email or interests, any time in Settings.
- You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by getting in touch.

## 8. Changes

We might update this policy sometimes. If it's a big change, we'll try to let you know, probably on the site. If you keep using Glongus after that, you're okay with the new version.
